The Barn Tearooms are situated in the original cow byres on the ground floor of a traditional Lakeland Bank Barn circa 1886, just across the cobbled yard from the main house.

Tables and chairs are arranged in the old stalls and farming, shooting and fishing artefacts from a bygone age adorn the original stone walls.

The floor is always a talking point as it dates back to the 1940’s and is on various levels - the reason for which will be explained if you venture in!

A huge fire sits in one corner ready to roar into action on colder days.
On sunny days there can be nothing nicer than to sit outside in the Old Midden, where tables, benches and chairs are arranged, to eat your meal gazing out towards Low Fell and the surrounding fields, often with horses grazing in the sunshine.

We also cater for funeral teas, christenings or good old fashioned family teas.

We look forward to welcoming you
